耶魯大學(xué)2017本科CA申請essay題目變更！申請耶魯難度降低？

據(jù)耶魯大學(xué)官網(wǎng)消息，今年耶魯大學(xué)的本科申請將在三個申請平臺上進(jìn)行：Common Application、Coalition Application以及QuestBridge National College Match Application。申請者可選擇三個系統(tǒng)中任意一個進(jìn)行申請。

1、Common Application

Common Application即我們中國留學(xué)生比較熟悉的CA系統(tǒng)，也是美國大學(xué)申請時最為常用的系統(tǒng)。申請時，申請者通常需要完成CA系統(tǒng)的文書并根據(jù)學(xué)校具體要求再提交1-2份文書。

今年耶魯大學(xué)將使用CA系統(tǒng)申請的學(xué)生的文書題目進(jìn)行了更換：.免費獲取私人定制留學(xué)方案

舊版本：

Please reflect on something you would like us to know about you that we might not learn from the rest of your application, or on something about which you would like to say more. You may write about anything — from personal experiences or interests to intellectual pursuits.

更換后新版本：

Please choose two of the following topics and respond to each in 200 words or fewer.

1. What is a community to which you belong? Reflect on the footprint that you have left. (You may define community and footprint in any way you like.)

2. Reflect on a time in the last few years when you felt genuine excitement learning about something.

3. Write about something that you love to do.

Optional Engineering and Computer Science Essay

If you selected one of the computer science or engineering majors, please tell us more about what has led you to an interest in this field of study, what experiences (if any) you have had in computer science or engineering, and what it is about Yale’s program in this area that appeals to you. 可以看出，更換后的新文書問題更加明確具體，縮小了申請者的選題范圍，看上去似乎難度有所降低。不過換個角度看，小而精的題目對申請者的文筆和講述故事的能力要求更高，如何在同類文書中脫穎而出需要申請者多花點心思了。

另外，新的文書題目也凸顯出耶魯對申請者在社區(qū)活動或經(jīng)歷方面的重視，并且對于申請如熱門的工程和計算機(jī)科學(xué)專業(yè)的申請者學(xué)習(xí)動機(jī)和熱情也是校方重要考察的點。

2、Coalition Application

Coalition Application系統(tǒng)是近幾年才興起的一個申請平臺，目前只有90多所美國大學(xué)使用該系統(tǒng)。

耶魯大學(xué)規(guī)定，使用該系統(tǒng)進(jìn)行申請的學(xué)生除了要完成系統(tǒng)上要求的文書之外，還需提交一份記錄過去四年對你有重要意義事件的電子檔案或者你的重要作品，形式可以是文檔、圖片、音頻文件或視頻，主題需要跟以下兩個題目之一相關(guān)，并寫一份不超過250詞的文書進(jìn)行闡述。

1. A community to which you belong and the footprint you have left. (You may define community and footprint in any way you like.)

2. A time in the last few years when you felt genuine excitement learning about something.

跟CA系統(tǒng)一樣，申請工程和計算機(jī)科學(xué)專業(yè)的學(xué)生還需提交一份500字的有關(guān)學(xué)習(xí)熱情和動機(jī)的文書。【定制留學(xué)專屬規(guī)劃，提高名校入讀機(jī)率】

另外，使用CA系統(tǒng)或Coalition Application系統(tǒng)的申請者都需要進(jìn)行Short Answer Questions環(huán)節(jié)，回答下列問題：

1. Students at Yale have plenty of time to explore their academic interests before committing to one or more major fields of study. Many students either modify their original academic direction or change their minds entirely. As of this moment, what academic areas seem to fit your interests or goals most comfortably? Please indicate up to three from the list provided.（選擇自己感興趣的三個專業(yè)）

2. Why do these areas appeal to you? (100 words or fewer)

3. Why does Yale appeal to you? (100 words or fewer)

4. Who or what is a source of inspiration for you? (35 words or fewer)

5. If you could live for a day as another person, past or present, who would it be? Why? (35 words or fewer)

3、QuestBridge National College Match Application

QuestBridge National College Match Application系統(tǒng)又被稱為大學(xué)匹配系統(tǒng)，是由一對醫(yī)生夫婦于1994年創(chuàng)辦的非盈利機(jī)構(gòu)，主要是為了幫助來自低收入家庭的資優(yōu)高中生提供免費就讀美國頂尖大學(xué)和獲得獎學(xué)金的機(jī)會。國際生也可以申請，但是通常要求是在美國就讀高中的國際申請者才可以申請，并且也不是所有的QuestBridge合作院校都接受。
